Whosoever thereforeresisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God:and they that resist shall receive to themselvesdamnation.3Forrulersarenot a terror to goodworks, but to the evil. Wilt thouthennot be afraid of the power?do that which is good, and thou shalt havepraiseof the same:4For he is the minister of God to theeforgood.Butif thou do that which is evil, be afraid ; for he bearethnot the sword in vain:for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrathupon him that doethevil.5Wherefore ye must needs be subject , notonlyforwrath, butalso for consciencesake.6Forforthiscause pay yetributealso:for they areGod'sministers, attending continuallyuponthis very thing.7Rendertherefore to all their dues:tribute to whomtribute is due; custom to whomcustom;fear to whomfear;honour to whomhonour.
