4Thussays the LORD my God, "Pasture the flock doomed to 1slaughter.
"Those whobuy them slay them and ago2unpunished , and each of those who sell them says, 'Blessed be the LORD, for 3I have becomerich !' And their 4own shepherdshavenopity on them.
"For I will 5nolongerhavepity on the inhabitants of the land," declares the LORD ; "but behold, I will 6cause the men to bfall, each into another'scpower and into the dpower of his king ; and they will strike the land, and I will 7not deliver them from their epower."
So I 8pastured the flock doomed to slaughter, fhence the 9afflicted of the flock. And I took for myself two10staffs : the one I calledg11Favor and the other I calledh12Union ; so I pastured the flock.
Then I annihilated the threeshepherds in 13onemonth, for my soul was impatient with them, and their soulalsoiwas weary of me.
Then I said, "I will not pasture you. What is to 14die, jlet it die, and what is to be annihilated, klet it be annihilated ; and llet those who are lefteatoneanother'sflesh."
I took my staffm15Favor and cut it in pieces, to n16break my covenantwhich I had made with all the peoples.
So it was obroken on that day, and pthus the 17afflicted of the flock who were watching me realized that it was the word of the LORD.
I said to them, "If it is good in your sight, give me my 18wages ; but if not, qnevermind !" So they weighed out 19thirty shekels of silver as my wages.
Then the LORDsaid to me, "Throw it to the 20potter, that magnificentprice at which I was valued by them." So I took the thirty shekels of silver and threw them to the potter in the house of the LORD.
Then I cut in pieces my secondstaffr21Union, to 22break the brotherhoodbetweenJudah and Israel.
