5 Entonces Acab dijo a Abdías: Ve por la tierra a todas las fuentes de agua y a todos los valles; quizá hallaremos hierba y conservaremos con vida los caballos y los mulos, y no tendremos que matar parte del ganado.

1 Kings 18:5

And Ahab said unto Obadiah, go into the land, unto all
fountains of water, and unto all brooks
To observe in what condition they were, and the places adjoining to them, the meadows and valleys: peradventure we may find grass to save the horses and mules alive;
particularly those which belonged to the king's stables, to find provisions for which it was found difficult: that we lose not all the beasts;
many of them, doubtless, were lost through the drought already, and there was great danger of the rest, and so, in time, of there being none to procreate and preserve their species, and to prevent which Ahab proposed to take this method.

3 Y Acab llamó a Abdías que era mayordomo de la casa. (Y Abdías temía en gran manera al SEÑOR;

4 pues sucedió que cuando Jezabel destruyó a los profetas del SEÑOR, Abdías tomó a cien profetas y los escondió de cincuenta en cincuenta en una cueva, y los sustentó con pan y agua.)

5 Entonces Acab dijo a Abdías: Ve por la tierra a todas las fuentes de agua y a todos los valles; quizá hallaremos hierba y conservaremos con vida los caballos y los mulos, y no tendremos que matar parte del ganado.

6 Y dividieron la tierra entre ellos para recorrerla; Acab se fue solo por un camino, y Abdías se fue solo por otro.

7 Y estando Abdías en el camino, he aquí, Elías le salió al encuentro, y Abdías lo reconoció y cayó sobre su rostro, y dijo: ¿Eres tú Elías, mi señor?
