Here there is no Greek or Jew,1 circumcised or uncircumcised,2 barbarian, Scythian, slave or free,3 but Christ is all,4 and is in all.
Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves5 with compassion, kindness, humility,6 gentleness and patience.713
Bear with each other8 and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.914
And over all these virtues put on love,10 which binds them all together in perfect unity.1115
Let the peace of Christ12 rule in your hearts, since as members of one body13 you were called to peace.14 And be thankful.
Let the word of Christ15 dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom,16 and as you sing psalms,17 hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.1817
And whatever you do,19 whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks20 to God the Father through him.
Wives, submit to your husbands,21 as is fitting in the Lord.
Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them.
Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.
Fathers, do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged.
