The brothers of Jesus here belong to the unbelieving world (kosmo) which is unable to love Jesus ( John 15:18John 15:23John 15:24 ) and which Jesus had already exposed ("testify," marturw, John 5:42John 5:45 ). This unbelieving "world" resented the exposure ( John 3:19 , cf. John 18:37 ).
