The Law

This is a very famous passage of Scripture. It is often still in the news because someone either wants the list posted on public property or wants it removed from public property. What role does the law have for us who call ourselves Christian? We claim to be under Grace and not under the law. What does that mean?

patsydail This is what i think...to simplify to me is in matthew 22:35 Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying, 36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38This is the first and great commandment. 39And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. When we got born again we got a new nature - the nature of God --- so as we grow in God, the more we should show God's nature. As we show God's nature in our everyday life -- we are fulfilling the law. Acturally the New testament goes past the Law -- for example: Old Test. says don't commit adultry, but Jesus don't even lust in your hear As far as the law goes: i think it is very important to read the Old Testament -- very important -- it's more than i can write in a few minutes.
