When John the Baptist was killed his disciples buried him and went to tell Jesus. When Jesus heard He with drew to a solitary place. I feel that Jesus was mourning for The Baptist. I wonder how close Jesus and John were? Besides being Cousins on Jesus' earthly side, he was the one who came before preparing the way for Christ's coming. There must have been some doubt on John's part because He had sent his disciplines to ask if Jesus was the one or should they look for another. But even in His mourning Jesus still had compassion for people and healed the sick among them. But after the crowd left He went up a mountain alone to pray. Later that night Jesus gave Peter a lesson in Faith and what could be done with great faith and what came from little faith.  Read less

We can never fully know and understand our sovereign God. We should spend more time listening to God and studying His word and less time talking and day dreaming. We must always respect God. What we have in life are gifts from God. God gives us everything we need to to live a happy and good life. If our lives are in a mess it is our fault not God's. We waste the gifts he gives us and we squander the resources He has provides us with. We too often are asking God to do what we should be doing for our selves anyway. The best thing we can ask from God is wisdom to do the right thing. We ask God for things that we don't need. Which is better riches or wisdom? Be satisfied with ourselves and with God.  Read less
