Revelation 21 Isa 66:22 New Heavens are eternal Dr. Jeremiah does not believe the earth will be destroyed but will be refreshed having taken away all evidence of evil. It will look as if it were created as new. There will be a fire cleansing and the world will be renevated. The new city called Jerusalem. The new city concept can be seen in Abraham who was looking in his heart for the new city. God has something for us beyond this life is put on all of our hearts. It is a holy city. Revelation 20:11-15 This is the place where the people who rejected God will get judged. Called the final judgement of the world. God will deal with sinners. The judgement seat of Christ is different from white throne judgement. Judgement seat takes place after the rapture and during the tribulation. White throne judgement takes place after the millimum Judgement seat of Christ is called the resurrection unto life White judgement is called the resurrection unto death God put 3 curses on earth 1. curse against saten- Gen 3:14,15 2. curse of ground- Gen 3:17,18 3. curse upon sinners- Gal This curse was removed when Jesus died on the cross 1st two curses are not resolved until Rev. 20. Curse upon saten is taken care of when saten is chained to bottomless pit but he is loosed for a short period of time. This release show just how depraved mans heart is as their are some who still choose sin even when Christ reigns. These ideal conditions do not change the human heart. Curse of saten has been lifted when he is thrown in the lake of fire. Earth and Heaven flee away from the great white throne. This shows the curse upon the earth is lifted and a new heaven and earth are created. verse 12- starts the second resurrection- where those that died without Christ will rise and stand before God. They are dead physically and spiritually. No believer will be judged at Great White throne judgement. v.11- This judgement occurs somewhere between heaven and earth. As earth has fled and they cant come to heaven. Jesus is on the throne and will dispense the judgement. John 5:21,22 Jesus given authority to judge Act 10:40-42, Christ will judge the quick( which means the living) and dead( refers to those who are spiritually dead) The people at the Great White throne judgement. the great and the small- special classes of those who were great and those who thought were small. God has no bias. The trial is over this is the sentencing phase. the purpose of the white throne judgement. v 12- men are judged from either the book of life or book of works. Some other books may be the book of conscious Rom. 2:15- we might be judged on wether we violated our conscious- one book might be book of words- Matt 12:36 Another book might be book of secret words- Rom 2:16, Ecc. 12:14, book of works- 2 Cor. 11:15, Mat. 16:27 book of life- Ex 32:32,33, Ps 69:28, Dan 12:1, Is it possible to have your named blotted out of the book of life. Roman and Greek cities all had a registry of all the inhabitants of that city. It was possible for someone to so defile his city that they would blot his name out of the registry. Dr. David believes that once born all names go in this book and those that don't accept Jesus get their names blotted out. Hell will be hotter for some than others. Revelation 19:11-21 The second coming of Christ. dealt with over 1,000x in scriptures. 2 key passages that talk about this event. Zechariah 14:3,4- Mat. 24:27-31 Advent of Christ- v. 11,13 John sees door of heaven opened up for the 2nd time. 2x in book of Revelation we see the door opened so we can look. 1st time in 4:1 it is opened so the church can go into heaven then it is shut. Now door is opened so the saints can go down to earth with the Lord. The first door opening discloses the rapture and the second discloses the rev- lation. The revelation- is when he comes with us to fight the battle of aremgeddon and set up his kingdom. the revelation will take place after 7 year tribulation. Armies of Christ-v. 14 The saints are dressed in white showing that the Lord will do the fighting Authority of Christ- v. 15,16 sword out of mouth- ps 2, rev 2 He will be the soul ruler of earth. Gov. will be on his shoulder-Isaiah Avenging of Christ-v. 17-21- beginning of tribulation we see world ruled by men, then world ruled by saten, now will be rulled by Christ. Christ will reclaim the world. fowls is translated vultures. Two suppers- marriage supper of the Lamb and supper of God. supper of God is time of judgement. You go to one of two suppers- If a believer you go to the marriage supper if not a believer you are the supper for the vultures. Which supper are you going to attend? v. 20 the battle is consummated with the beast and the false prophet being taken to lake of fire. These are the first two inhabitants in hell. They get into hell before saten. Just as the saints get new bodies after death. Those that go into hell forever will get new bodies that will remain forever while in hell. They will burned forever and feel the effects. When the Lord comes back a second time it will be for judgement. Things to do while we wait for Jesus to come back 1. Revelation 19 The second coming of Jesus 1st there is a celebration in heaven Alleluia- means praise ye the Lord. only found in this chapter in NT (4x) Alleluia for the salvation of God, Alleluia for severity of God. Alleluia for the greatness of God, Alleluia for the supremacy of God. Jewish Wedding Step 1- the legal consummation of the marriage was often done by the parents. this is the time the dowery was made and they might not have even met. Step 2- The Bridegroom would go and get the bride and take him to their home that he has been preparing himself. Step 3- the bridal procession, which took place after the marriage feast and lasted many days. This picture gives us our understanding of Jesus and his coming again for us. The legal marriage between us and the Lord has already taken place. It took place at the time of our conversion. The bride is now waiting the time for the bridegroom to come and get us- the mansion is being prepared where the marriage of the lamb will take place. The third phase will take place which is the feast or the supper. In oriental wedding the groom is the main attraction and the bride is the side note. 2 parts to the ceremony- 1- the sacred wedding 2- the supper meal One of these day the bridegroom will come back for the bride and take her to his house. Scripture says we will meet him in the air. He is going to escort us. At this point in time our relationship to Christ can be described as an engagement began at our conversion. 2 Cor. 2- I have engaged you as to one husband. Scripture does not tell us exactly when the marriage takes place in heaven but from what we can tell from scripture it happens right after the rapture and the judgement seat of Christ and before the 2nd advent. The first event when we get to heaven is the judgement seat of Christ. It must occur before the wedding takes place. We know the marriage takes place after the judgement seat of Christ because of v. 8. The reference to righteousness does not mean of Christ but of the saints. We know this because the bride hath made herself ready and the verse talks about the righteousness of the saint. 1 cor. 3 says we will have to appear before God and our works will be tested. it will go through fire and what does not get burned is what we will wear. The only thing we can wear at the wedding is what does not get burned up in the fire after Christ has purged out all of the self motivated and unrighteous acts. Judgement- wedding- 2nd Advent. When he comes back for the 2nd time we will come back with him to reign for 1,000 years. Who will be at the wedding- the Bridegroom or the lamb as text describes. He wants the title of the lamb at the wedding feast. Because that is the title we fell in love with. The Bride is the church and will be there. While the wedding takes place in heaven but the feast takes place on earth. Who else could be invited to the wedding? John 3- the bride, the bridegroom and the friend of the bridegroom which is Israel. Scripture says blessed are they that are invited to the supper. Redeemed Israel. Are we ready?  Read less

Revelation 18 3 things we know about the anti-christ 1. He will work out of Rome 2. He will also work out of Jerusalem as he will make a pact with Jews 3. He will function out of Babylon(260 times in bible) The spirit of Babylon is mans atempt to live apart from God. We don't need God to reach down to us- we can do it on our own strength and reach up to him with our own strength. I did it myself- today its called humanism. This chapter could be talking about an actual city Babylon being rebuilt or the way the culture has shifted to humanism. First we see and angel come and proclaim judgement on Babylon. The fact that the scripture says "fallen, fallen" twice is because it is referring to both the religious system and the economic system. The greek word for fallen states that it will be done instantanously not over a period of time. Why is Babylon going to be judged? 1. iniquity- v. 5 - v. 2 shows that it is demon controlled system. 2. influence- v. 3 3. infidelity- v. 7 man is surpreme god 4. inhumanity- v. 12,13 list several commodities and people are put on the list of things that the system owns. 1st gold and silver-where everything get put on the gold standard, then come the things for show and adornment, then rare choice articles wood and ivory, then perfumes and luxeries that speak of sensualness then substantial commodies of horses and chariots- none of these things are necessary. When commericialism and humanism and babylonism reach their full measure it is so dehumanizing that the soul is of no value. Man will be nothing more that a commoditity. All of these ideas start with saying that God was not the creator. v. 21-23 No more is said 6 times. Revelation 17 Babylon is found 290 in scripture. It represents the false systems of religions. When we talk about Babylon we are not just talking about a city but a system that grew up out of that city. History dates 1st to Nimrod and the tower of Babel. Gen. 10-the term babel means gate to glory and "el" is God so "gate to God" God saw it for what it was and changed it to confusion. The religion of babylon is centered around Nimrods wife Samaris( in Greek she was called Afrodite, latin and Romans she was called Venus) this woman was the first high priestess of idolarty. Her son Tammuz she said was conceived by a sunbeam and she offered her son as the promised deilverer of the earth. Legend says that a wild bore killed him after he became a man and that he was raised from the dead. Mother went through 40 days of weeping. This started the false religion of worship of mother and child. In Greece she was Afrodite and her son called Arous. Romans she was Venus and son cupid. Mother was offered as queen of earth. This religion was counterfeit against God and his son. Jeremiah 44:15 warns about this false religion effecting Jews. They were worshipping the queen of heaven. Eze 8:13,14 Women of Israel celebrating the 40 days of lent of the weeping of Tammuz. The woman represents an apostate religious system. This woman was once christian but has traded in spiritual power for worldly power. She has universal power. Rome sits on 7 hills. Whore describes the woman. The symbolization of the church as a whore illustrates spiritual adultry. This is never used of heathen nations. Church is view as a virgin. The reason the church is a harlot in the last days is that she is going to join with the political system. Instead of God she is going to rest in the political system of the day. in this chapter you see this woman who is resting upon the beast which is the political system. This woman has a vast outreach into the whole world. The 7 heads and the 10 horns speak of the political system that the beast has set up for the tribulation. v 6 says religious Rome will martyrs the church. v. 10 John is writing this and 5 Roman kings had already fallen- Julies Ceasar, Tiberus, Coligula, Cladius and Nero. The king that was reigning was Dominician. One king was left in the future and that will come from the revived Roman empire and will be the antichrist. He will join forces with the harlot church and reign will be three years. v. 7,12,16 10 horns are 10 kings. What we have here is a picture of what it will look like in the tribulation. We have the antichrist controlling the political scene joining forces with the false prophet working with the religious sector working with 10 heads of state which will be ruling an area once controlled by Rome. In Daniel we see the statue with 10 toes. At the end of the chapter we see the antichrist devour the church because it no longer needs it- it has lost its usefulness to him. He gets the strenght of the church until he doesn't need it anymore.
