It took anywhere from 8 to 10 months to build all the items and tents for the the tabernackle. Moses was on the mountain 40 days possibly twice.
There must have been another tent for meeting God prior to this one being built then.

It's interesting that Cain found that he no longer being allowed into God's presence was the main concern/complaint. This would indicated that God's presence was still there and people could still feel it. Read less
