John chapter 4: 1st: Jesus is headed to Galilee. but in order to get to Galilee, he had to go through Samaria. While in Samaria, he stopped in a town called Sychar. While there he gets thirsty and sits by a well. When a Samaratin woman comes to the well to draw water, Jesus asks her to draw some for him. The woman asks Jesus why he is asking her for a drink, (because Jews and Samaritans didn't associate with each other). Jesus begins talking to the woman and she eventually begins to know who Jesus is. (verses 1-26) 2nd: The disciples rejoin Jesus, as the Samaritan woman is headed back to town to tell other Samaritans to come and see Jesus. The disciples are encouraging Jesus to eat something; Jesus explains that his "food" is to do the will of God and complete the work he was sent here to do. (verses 27-38) 3rd: Many Samaritans now believed that Jesus was indeed the Savior because of the testimony of the woman at the well. Jesus stayed two more days, and many more Samaritans became believers after hearing Jesus speak. (verses 39-42) 4th: Jesus healed a royal official's son. This was the second miraculous sign Jesus performed while in Galilee. The reason why this is a miracle is because Jesus never left Galilee to heal the boy. Psalm 119:105: Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. This means that the word of God will guide you safely through your journey of life. if you use the word as your guide, you will be able to safely navigate your way through this treacherous world we live in. If I am walking home, down a dark and unlit road at night, there are two things that I would need in order to make it home safely. A LAMP for my feet, so I can see where I am walking, and a LIGHT, so I can see where I am going. Without these lights, I may still make it home safe, but it will take much longer than expected because I am walking in the dark and cannot see where I am going. (This thought is in my spirit) The word of God is the LAMP to light up my mind, so I can see how to serve the Lord; God put Jesus in my heart because He is the LIGHT. I can now come to the father, because I can see how to get to the Light, which is Jesus.  Read less

Ephesians 4: Teaches that God expects there to be unity in the body of Christ, and that God (not man) is the giver of "titles" or "positions" within the body for his children. As we become mature in our knowledge, we are expected to unify the entire body of Christ through speaking the word of truth in love, and living our lives as children of God. (Verses 1-16) In verses 17-32, we are taught how to live as children of the Lord. We are expected to adjust our behavior and mindsets, so that we bring honor to ourselves and our God by living our lives in a holy manner. If we truely have God in our hearts, we will change our sinful natures, and will become children who only want to do right. We will not continue to hold on to immature behaviors and spiteful ways.  Read less

John 3 has two main points that need to be learned. 1st: Jesus taught Nicodemus how a man can be born again. Jesus also teaches Nicodemus that He (Jesus) is the light, and only through believing in Him, can one find eternal life. (Verses 1-21) 2nd: John testifies as to who Jesus is. That he is the way to eternal life. John uses a parable of a "bride and bridegroom" to explain the relationship between himself and Jesus. John makes it clear that he is not important, but that Jesus is the focus and Jesus is whom we must come to know. (Verses 22-36)  Read less

2nd Timothy 2:15: Study to shew (show) thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. This means to study the word of God intensely, so that I will not be ashamed or unsure, nor fearful or unsettled, when speaking or teaching the word of God to others. If I have asked God for revelation and truth, to speak his word with accuracy; I will know I have rightly divided the word of truth.  Read less

Greetings Brothers and Sisters, I read the comment by Brother Mark in reference to John 11:35, in which the verse has just two words "JESUS WEPT". Because we are all believers in God, I feel its critically important that we all understand and interpret the Word of God correctly. With respect to Brother Mark, Jesus did not weep for the reason Brother Mark stated. Here is Brother Mark's interpretation: "Jesus wept because they did not see that He was the resurection and the life". First, we must remember that Jesus was IN THE FLESH while here on Earth. So He was subject to EMOTIONS and FEELINGS just as all human's are. Having said that, let me give you one example of Jesus having a "human emotion". In the book of John, verses 13-17, Jesus went to the temple for passover. When he got there, he found merchants selling their animals and exchanging money in the courts of the temple. Jesus got very angry; He made a whip out of cords and He "cleaned house" . He drove the merchants out of the temple, along with their animals, He then poured their money on the ground and turned over the tables they were using to conduct their business. So you see, Jesus possessed the emotion of ANGER, and in that moment; he reacted in anger. Now to verse 11:35. Jesus wept because he saw and felt the grieving spirit of Mary and the other Jews whom were with her. So when he saw Mary weeping; he couldn't help to to weep also. So that's why Jesus wept. Further proof; Here are the verses themselves: (King James version) VERSE 33: WHEN JESUS THEREFORE SAW HER WEEPING, and the Jews ALSO WEEPING which came with her, he GROANED IN THE SPIRIT, AND WAS TROUBLED. VERSE 34: And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and see. VERSE 35: JESUS WEPT. Also, keep in mind that Jesus Loved Martha, Mary and Lazarus (John 11:5) and they knew who He was. So Jesus would not have wept because they did not know who he was. Take a look at these verses..... VERSE 24: Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day. VERSE 25: Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live. VERSE 26: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die . Believest thou this? VERSE 27: SHE SAITH UNTO HIM, YEA, LORD: I BELIEVE THAT THOU ART THE SON OF CHRIST, THE SON OF GOD. So Jesus did not weep because they did not know he was. He wept because His spirit felt the sorrow and pain of Mary and the Jews over the death of lazurus. I pray that Brother Mark take no offense at this. I'm just trying to make sure that God's word is not misinterpreted, nor misunderstood. -Amen  Read less

CHAPTER 2 in the book of John teaches two main points. 1st: Jesus performed the FIRST MIRACLE by turning WATER INTO WINE. -He did this in the town of Cana in the city of Galilee. -He was at a wedding; His mother was there also. -She's the one who informed Jesus that the people had no more wine. -Jesus asked his mother why was involving him?(His time hadn't come) -His mother told the servants to do whatever Jesus asked of them. -Jesus then turned the water into wine. -This was the first miracle. (verses 1-11) 2nd- Jesus clears the temple of disrespectful merchants. -Jesus went to Capernaum and stayed a few days. when it was near the time of passover, Jesus went to the courts of His father's temple and found merchants selling their animals (cattle, sheep and doves) and saw other merchants exchanging money. -This angered Jesus, so he made a whip out of cords and drove the merchants out of the temple. Before the merchants left , they asked Jesus who was he to tell them that they could not sell their wares in the temple. Jesus told them to destory the temple and he would rebuild it in 3 days. The Jews thought he meant the Temple building itself, but Jesus was talking about Himself; He was the temple; He would die and be raised in 3 days. Jesus performed other miraculous signs while there, but they are not mentioned by the exact miracle or sign. (verses 12-25)  Read less
