We so often realize that Jesus knew not only that He would be betrayed, but also by whom. But this discourse takes on another layer when we keep in mind that not only is He referring to Judas, but that Judas was there listening (thank the notes for this insight). Jesus is pointing (again) to those who do things in His name and follow along with the best of His disciples, but who have not had a change of heart, symbolized by Jesus referencing complete washing versus just the feet. Judas was not clean, so that at this point the foot washing would not accomplish anything. The foot washing, ie to me the periodic cleansing of confession etc., was only for those who had truly given their heart and lives to Jesus. Salvation as many now understand it.  Read less

In light of last nights lesson in The Truth Project, Paul under the Holy Spirit has simply laid out so much of what Del Tackett has been and was teaching in the current lesson. It is right here - God has plan for relationships between people, ie, marriage and sexual relations only between married men and women (one on one, not more) and then the key word to The Truth Project. The alternative is a LIE, and because God is holy and righteousness He allows us in our free will to pursue the ungodly with the consequences to be experienced and suffered.  Read less
