Theory that God sees creation as power. Women and God are equal in this way and it is possible that God did not want her to understand that. He wanted to keep the power of creation for himself. Reproduction/sex could be part of knowing good and evil.
Adam didn't have to take the fruit. He made his own decision when he knew the consequences. Maybe God should have taught them good from evil before he demanded that they not do something.
You can see values of later society embedded in the story about the past. The inclusion of the idea that wearing clothing is civilized can only come from the presents of civilization and society which did not exist at the time of Adam and Eve.
Verse 14 suggests that the serpent was originally not like what we think of serpents today. Was it more like a person?
God can no longer keep the power of creation from women and so now he will punish her by making it painful. And in order to keep women in check, God decides to place them under man's control.
I don't appreciate this from God or buy it. This has to be taken as a belief that belongs in context with the people who recorded Genesis and not applied to modern times.
