:20 Indeed, if they have once escaped the pollutions of the world through knowing our Lord and Deliverer, Yeshua the Messiah, and then have again become entangled and defeated by them, their latter condition has become worse than their former.
:21 It would have been better for them not to have known the Way of righteousness than, fully knowing, to turn from the holy command delivered to them.

The Apostle Paul must have notice that the gentiles didn't know much about the Holy Spirit and doesn't want them to be ignorant on the matters of the Holy Spirit.
To me it seems like the Apostle is very sensitive to their condition and very concern. The gentile were idol worshippers. They never new about the one and only true living God. They were familiar with gods that were manmade and then worshipped. Some idols were made of wood others of cement, metal, clay. These were gods that couldn't see, hear, talk or walk. They had to be carried from place to place. By the same token they too were blinded by these idols. Being mislead. Read less
