Dan :2 21
God can change times.. God can make the sun go back as in the times of Ahaz and Joshua..He is all powerful..It is the great part of God's power and prerogative to change times.Daniel here attributes that to God,but the Heathens attributed to nature or chance.God only, that made all by His power, doeth rule, and over-rule all by his providence.Even the scientist claimed that the sun had stood still at some time... Paul and Timothy write a letter about the Good News of Christ to Philemon a beloved friend and co-worker, to sister Apphia and Archippus, and to the people who meet in their house church.
Thanksgiving and Prayer
Paul told Philemon he was thanking God for him and his faith in the Lord and his love for God's people. Paul encouraged Philemon to continue sharing his faith, that he understands all the great things we have because of Christ and that
Philemon's love for Christ is an encouragement to him.
Paul's Plea for Onesimus
From prison, Paul ask Philemon , out of the kindness of his heart and the love they shared, to be kind to Onesimus, who was like a son to Paul. He knew Onesimus hadn't been much help in the past, but now, he could help both of them. Paul was sending him to help Philemon, even though he wanted to keep Onesimus with him to help while Paul was in jail. Paul didn't want to send Onesimus without first being sure it was ok with Philemon. He also didn't want Philemon to feel like he was being forced to receive Onesimus' help. Paul told him to think of it as, Onesimus was separated from him for awhile, so that he could return to him a better man, like a brother. Paul said that if Philemon considered him a partner, then he would welcome Onesimus. And, if he had harmed him or stolen anything, Paul would repay Philemon. Paul asked Philemon to do this favor for the Lord's sake and to prepare a guest room for him because he knew God would free him from prison soon.
He sent greetings from others in jail with him and finished with an encouragement.
