Psalms 34:10 Meaning and Commentary

Psalms 34:10

The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger
According to Apollinarius,

``the needy rich, whom famine presses;''

see ( Job 4:10 Job 4:11 ) ;

but they that seek the Lord;
by prayer, diligently, with their whole heart, and in the sincerity of their souls; the Targum is, "that seek the doctrine of the Lord"; that seek instruction from him, and to be taught by him: these

shall not want any good [thing]:
which God has purposed to bestow upon them, which he has promised unto them, and provided for them; nor any thing that shall be for their good.

Psalms 34:10 In-Context

8 Taste and see that the Lord is good. How happy is the man who takes refuge in Him!
9 Fear the Lord, you His saints, for those who fear Him lack nothing.
10 Young lions lack food and go hungry, but those who seek the Lord will not lack any good thing.
11 Come, children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord.
12 Who is the man who delights in life, loving a long life to enjoy what is good?
