1 Yēhéhuá xiǎoyù Móxī shuō ,

2 Nǐ fēnfu Yǐsèliè rén shuō , nǐmen dào le Jiānán dì , jiù shì guī nǐmen wéi yè de Jiānán sì jìng zhī dì ,

3 Nán jiǎo yào cóng xún de kuàngyĕ , tiē zhe Yǐdōng de biānjiè . nán jiè yào cóng Yánhǎi dōng tóu qǐ ,

4 Rǎo dào Yàkèlābāng pō de nánbiān , jiē lián dào xún , zhí tōng dào Jiādīsībāníyà de nánbiān , yòu tōng dào hā sà Yàdá , jiē lián dào yē men ,

5 Cóng yē men zhuǎn dào Āijí xiǎo hé , zhí tōng dào hǎi wéizhǐ .

6 Xībiān yào yǐ dà hǎi wéi jiè . zhè jiù shì nǐmen de xī jiè .

7 Bĕi jiè yào cóng dà hǎi qǐ , huá dào hé Ěr shān ,

8 Cóng hé Ěr shān huá dào Hāmǎkǒu , tōng dào xī dá dá ,

9 Yòu tōng dào xī fĕi lún , zhídào hā sà yǐ nán . zhè yào zuò nǐmen de bĕi jiè .

10 Nǐmen yào cóng hā sà yǐ nán huá dào shì fān wéi dōng jiè .

11 Zhè jiè yào cóng shì fān xià dào yà yán dōngbiān de lì Bǐlā , yòu yào dádào Jīníliè hú de dōngbiān .

12 Zhè jiè yào xià dào Yuēdànhé , tōng dào Yánhǎi wéizhǐ . zhè sìwéi de biānjiè yǐ neì , yào zuò nǐmen de dì .

13 Móxī fēnfu Yǐsèliè rén shuō , zhè dì jiù shì Yēhéhuá fēnfu niānjiū gĕi jiǔ gè bàn zhīpaì chéngshòu wéi yè de .

14 Yīnwei Liúbiàn zhīpaì hé Jiādé zhīpaì àn zhe zōngzú shòu le chǎnyè , Mǎnáxī bàn gè zhīpaì yĕ shòu le chǎnyè .

15 Zhè liǎng gè bàn zhīpaì yǐjing zaì Yēlìgē duìmiàn , Yuēdànhé dōng , xiàng rì chū zhī dì shòu le chǎnyè .

17 Yào gĕi nǐmen fèn dì wéi yè zhī rén de míngzi shì jìsī YǐlìYàsā hé nèn de érzi Yuēshūyà .

18 Yòu yào cóng mĕi zhīpaì zhōng xuǎn yī gè shǒulǐng bāngzhu tāmen .

19 Zhèxie rén de míngzi , Yóudà zhīpaì yǒu Yéfúní de érzi Jiālè .

20 Xīmiǎn zhīpaì yǒu Yàmǐ hū de érzi shì mǔ lì .

21 Biànyǎmǐn zhīpaì yǒu jī sī lún de érzi Yǐlì dá .

22 Dàn zhīpaì yǒu yī gè shǒulǐng , yuē lì de érzi Bùjī.

23 Yūesè de zǐsūn Mǎnáxī zhīpaì yǒu yī gè shǒulǐng , Yǐfú de érzi hàn niè .

24 Yǐfǎlián zhīpaì yǒu yī gè shǒulǐng , shí Fú dàn de érzi Jīmǔlì .

25 Xībùlún zhīpaì yǒu yī gè shǒulǐng , pà nà de érzi Yǐlì Sǎpān .

26 Yǐsàjiā zhīpaì yǒu yī gè shǒulǐng , a sǎn de érzi pà tiĕ .

Mínshùjì 34 Commentary

Chapter 34

The bounds of the promised land. (1-15) Those appointed to divide the land. (16-29)

Verses 1-15 Canaan was of small extent; as it is here bounded, it is but about 160 miles in length, and about 50 in breadth; yet this was the country promised to the father of the faithful, and the possession of the seed of Israel. This was that little spot of ground, in which alone, for many ages, God was known. This was the vineyard of the Lord, the garden enclosed; but as it is with gardens and vineyards, the narrowness of the space was made up by the fruitfulness of the soil. Though the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof, yet few know him, and serve him; but those few are happy, because fruitful to God. Also, see how little a share of the world God gives to his own people. Those who have their portion in heaven, have reason to be content with a small pittance of this earth. Yet a little that a righteous man has, having it from the love of God, and with his blessing, is far better and more comfortable than the riches of many wicked.

Verses 16-29 God here appoints men to divide the land to them. So sure must they feel of victory and success while God fought for them, that the persons are named who should be intrusted with the dividing of the land.

In this chapter the bounds and borders of the land Canaan are described, according to the direction of the Lord to Moses, Nu 34:1,2, the south border, Nu 34:3-5, the western border, Nu 34:6, the north border, Nu 34:7-9, the east border, Nu 34:10-12, which is ordered to be divided by lot to the nine tribes and a half, two tribes and a half having received their inheritance on the other side Jordan, Nu 34:13-15, and the persons are nominated to divide the land, Eleazar and Joshua, with one prince out of every tribe, and who are mentioned by name, Nu 34:16-29.
