For the LORD your God is God of gods1 and Lord of lords,2 the great God, mighty and awesome,3 who shows no partiality4 and accepts no bribes.5
18
He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow,6 and loves the alien, giving him food and clothing.7
19
And you are to love8 those who are aliens,9 for you yourselves were aliens in Egypt.10
20
Fear the LORD your God and serve him.11 Hold fast12 to him and take your oaths in his name.13
21
He is your praise;14 he is your God, who performed for you those great15 and awesome wonders16 you saw with your own eyes.
22
Your forefathers who went down into Egypt were seventy in all,17 and now the LORD your God has made you as numerous as the stars in the sky.18
