the ornamental head or capital of a pillar. Three Hebrew words are so rendered.

  • Cothereth ( 1 Kings 7:16 ; 2 Kings 25:17 ; 2 Chr 4:12 ), meaning a "diadem" or "crown."
  • Tzepheth ( 2 Chronicles 3:15 ).
  • Rosh ( Exodus 36:38 ; Exodus 38:17 Exodus 38:19 Exodus 38:28 ), properly a "head" or "top."
