1 Paul, an apostle¹ of Christ Jesus by the will of God,² To the saints³ in Ephesus,^a⁴ the faithful^b⁵ in Christ Jesus: 2 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.⁶

Spiritual Blessings in Christ

3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,⁷ who has blessed us in the heavenly realms⁸ with every spiritual blessing in Christ. 4 For he chose us⁹ in him before the creation of the world¹⁰ to be holy and blameless¹¹ in his sight. In love¹² 5 he^c predestined¹³ us to be adopted as his sons¹⁴ through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure¹⁵ and will-- 6 to the praise of his glorious grace,¹⁶ which he has freely given us in the One he loves.¹⁷ 7 In him we have redemption¹⁸ through his blood,¹⁹ the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches²⁰ of God's grace 8 that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding. 9 And he^d made known to us the mystery²¹ of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed²² in Christ,
