made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions1--it is by grace you have been saved.26
And God raised us up with Christ3 and seated us with him4 in the heavenly realms5 in Christ Jesus,
in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace,6 expressed in his kindness7 to us in Christ Jesus.
For it is by grace8 you have been saved,9 through faith10--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--
not by works,11 so that no one can boast.1210
For we are God's workmanship,13 created14 in Christ Jesus to do good works,15 which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Therefore, remember that formerly16 you who are Gentiles by birth and called "uncircumcised" by those who call themselves "the circumcision" (that done in the body by the hands of men)17--
remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners18 to the covenants of the promise,19 without hope20 and without God in the world.
But now in Christ Jesus you who once21 were far away have been brought near22 through the blood of Christ.2314
For he himself is our peace,24 who has made the two one25 and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility,
by abolishing in his flesh26 the law with its commandments and regulations.27 His purpose was to create in himself one28 new man out of the two, thus making peace,
