This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs1 together with Israel, members together of one body,2 and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus.37
I became a servant of this gospel4 by the gift of God's grace given me5 through the working of his power.68
Although I am less than the least of all God's people,7 this grace was given me: to preach to the Gentiles8 the unsearchable riches of Christ,99
and to make plain to everyone the administration of this mystery,10 which for ages past was kept hidden in God, who created all things.
His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God11 should be made known12 to the rulers and authorities13 in the heavenly realms,1411
according to his eternal purpose15 which he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord.
In him and through faith in him we may approach God16 with freedom and confidence.1713
I ask you, therefore, not to be discouraged because of my sufferings for you, which are your glory.
For this reason I kneel18 before the Father,
from whom his whole familya in heaven and on earth derives its name.
I pray that out of his glorious riches19 he may strengthen you with power20 through his Spirit in your inner being,2117
so that Christ may dwell in your hearts22 through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted23 and established in love,
may have power, together with all the saints,24 to grasp how wide and long and high and deep25 is the love of Christ,
and to know this love that surpasses knowledge26--that you may be filled27 to the measure of all the fullness of God.2820
Now to him who is able29 to do immeasurably more than all we ask30 or imagine, according to his power31 that is at work within us,
to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.32
