As for the rich in 5this present age, charge them 6not to be haughty, nor 7to set their hopes on 8the uncertainty of riches, but on God, 9who richly provides us with everything to enjoy.
They are to do good, 10to be rich in good works, to be generous and 11ready to share,
thus 12storing up treasure for themselves as a good foundation for the future, so that they may 13take hold of 14that which is truly life.
O Timothy, guard the deposit entrusted to you. 15Avoid the 16irreverent babble and contradictions of what is falsely called "knowledge,"
for by professing it some have swerved from the faith. 17Grace be with you.a
