2
1in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following
2the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in
3the sons of disobedience--
3
among whom we all once lived in
4the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and
5were by nature
6children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.
4
But God, being
7rich in mercy,
8because of the great love with which he loved us,
5
even
9when we were dead in our trespasses,
10made us alive together with Christ--
11by grace you have been saved--
6
and raised us up with him and
12seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
7
so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable
13riches of his grace in
14kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
8
For
15by grace you have been saved
16through faith. And this is
17not your own doing;
18it is the gift of God,
9
19not a result of works,
20so that no one may boast.
10
For
21we are his workmanship,
22created in Christ Jesus
23for good works,
24which God prepared beforehand,
25that we should walk in them.
One in Christ
11 Therefore remember that at one time you Gentiles in the flesh, called "the uncircumcision" by what is called
26the circumcision, which is made in the flesh by hands--
12
remember
27that you were at that time separated from Christ,
28alienated from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers to
29the covenants of promise,
30having no hope and without God in the world.
