7
1If you had known me, you would have
2known my Father also. From now on you do know him and
3have seen him. ”
8
4Philip said to him, “Lord,
5show us the Father, and it is enough for us. ”
9
Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and you still do not know me, Philip?
6Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?
10
Do you not believe that
7I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you
8I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in me does his works.
11
Believe me that
9I am in the Father and the Father is in me, or else
10believe on account of the works themselves.
12
“Truly, truly, I say to you,
11whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I
12am going to the Father.
13
13Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that
14the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14
15If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.
Jesus Promises the Holy Spirit
15 16“If you love me, you will
17keep my commandments.
16
And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another
18Helper, to be with you forever,
17
even
19the Spirit of truth,
20whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and
21will be in you.
