John 17:12-22

12 ¹While I was with them, I kept them in your name, which you have given me. I have ²guarded them, and ³not one of them has been lost except ⁴the son of destruction, ⁵that the Scripture might be fulfilled.

13 But now ⁶I am coming to you, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have ⁷my joy fulfilled in themselves.

14 ⁸I have given them your word, and ⁹the world has hated them ¹⁰because they are not of the world, ¹¹just as I am not of the world.

15 I ¹²do not ask that you ¹³take them out of the world, but that you ¹⁴keep them from ¹⁵the evil one. ^[a]

16 ¹⁶They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.

17 ¹⁷Sanctify them^[b] in the truth; ¹⁸your word is truth.

18 ¹⁹As you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world.

19 And ²⁰for their sake ²¹I consecrate myself, ^[c] that they also ²²may be sanctified^[d] in truth.

20 “I do not ²³ask for these only, but also for those ²⁴who will believe in me through their word,

21 ²⁵that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that ²⁶they also may be in ²⁷us, so that the world ²⁸may believe that you have sent me.

22 ²⁹The glory that you have given me ³⁰I have given to them, ³¹that they may be one even as we are one,
