John 15:12-17

12 ¹"This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.

13 ²Greater love has no one than this, ³that someone lay down his life for his friends.

14 You are ⁴my friends ⁵if you do what I command you.

15 ⁶No longer do I call you servants,^[a] for the servant^{[b] 7} does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for ⁸all that I have heard from my Father ⁹I have made known to you.

16 You did not choose me, but ¹⁰I chose you and appointed you that you should go and ¹¹bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that ¹²whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.

17 These things I command you, ¹³so that you will love one another.
