711that we should be saved from our enemies and from the hand of all who hate us;
722to show the mercy promised to our fathers and 3to remember his holy 4covenant,
735the oath that he swore to our father Abraham, to grant us
that we, being delivered from the hand of our enemies, might serve him 6without fear,
757in holiness and righteousness before him 8all our days.
And you, child, will be called 9the prophet of 10the Most High; for 11you will go before the Lord to prepare his ways,
to give knowledge of salvation to his people 12in the forgiveness of their sins,
because of the 13tender mercy of our God, whereby 14the sunrise shall 15visit usa16from on high
to 17give light to 18those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into 19the way of 20peace."
8021And the child grew and became strong in spirit, and he was 22in the wilderness until the day of his public appearance to Israel.
