Joseph stayed in Egypt, along with all his father's family. He lived a hundred and ten years123
and saw the third generation2 of Ephraim's3 children.4 Also the children of Makir5 son of Manasseh6 were placed at birth on Joseph's knees.a724
Then Joseph said to his brothers, "I am about to die.8 But God will surely come to your aid9 and take you up out of this land to the land10 he promised on oath to Abraham,11 Isaac12 and Jacob."1325
And Joseph made the sons of Israel swear an oath14 and said, "God will surely come to your aid, and then you must carry my bones15 up from this place."1626
So Joseph died17 at the age of a hundred and ten.18 And after they embalmed him,19 he was placed in a coffin in Egypt.
