Luke 21:38

38 Early each morning all the people went to the Temple to listen to him.

Luke 21:38 Meaning and Commentary

Luke 21:38

And all the people came early in the morning
Not all the people in Jerusalem, every inhabitant of the city; this word "all", is often to be taken with a restriction, and here it designs a large number; the Persic version renders it, "vast multitudes": these, some out of curiosity, and others from a real love to him, and his ministry, rose betimes, and came early, to him in the temple, to hear him;
which is said, in commendation of Christ's hearers, and is worthy of imitation; as the former verse is a commendation of the preacher, in his constancy and diligence in his work, and following it with his prayers.

Luke 21:38 In-Context

36 Be on watch and pray always that you will have the strength to go safely through all those things that will happen and to stand before the Son of Man."
37 Jesus spent those days teaching in the Temple, and when evening came, he would go out and spend the night on the Mount of Olives.
38 Early each morning all the people went to the Temple to listen to him.
