Mark 9:46

46 'where their worm doesn't die, and the fire is not quenched.'

Mark 9:46 Meaning and Commentary

Mark 9:46

Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
] The Persic version renders it, "because from thence there can be no deliverance": which is rather an interpretation of these figurative expressions, and is a good one; since they design the eternity of hell torments, as well as point at the anguish and misery of them.

Mark 9:46 In-Context

44 'where their worm doesn't die, and the fire is not quenched.'
45 If your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life lame, rather than having your two feet to be cast into Gehinnom, into the fire that will never be quenched --
46 'where their worm doesn't die, and the fire is not quenched.'
47 If your eye causes you to stumble, cast it out. It is better for you to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into the Gehinnom of fire,
48 'where their worm doesn't die, and the fire is not quenched.'
