"Hear this, you priests! Pay attention, you Israelites! Listen, O royal house! This judgment1 is against you: You have been a snare2 at Mizpah, a net3 spread out on Tabor.
The rebels are deep in slaughter.4 I will discipline all of them.5
I know all about Ephraim; Israel is not hidden6 from me. Ephraim, you have now turned to prostitution; Israel is corrupt.7
"Their deeds do not permit them to return8 to their God. A spirit of prostitution9 is in their heart; they do not acknowledge10 the LORD.
Israel's arrogance testifies11 against them; the Israelites, even Ephraim, stumble12 in their sin; Judah also stumbles with them.13
When they go with their flocks and herds to seek the LORD,14 they will not find him; he has withdrawn15 himself from them.
They are unfaithful16 to the LORD; they give birth to illegitimate17 children. Now their New Moon festivals18 will devour19 them and their fields.
"Sound the trumpet20 in Gibeah,21 the horn in Ramah.22 Raise the battle cry in Beth Aven;23 lead on, O Benjamin.
Ephraim will be laid waste24 on the day of reckoning.25 Among the tribes of Israel I proclaim what is certain.26
