So the kingsaid, "Who is in the court?" Now Haman had just entered the outercourt of the king'spalace in order to speak to the king about hangingMordecai on the gallowswhich he had prepared for him.

So Hamancame in and the kingsaid to him, "What is to be done for the manwhom the kingdesires to honor?" And Hamansaid to himself, "Whom would the kingdesire to honormorethan me?"

Hamanrecounted to Zeresh his wife and all his friendseverything that had happened to him. Then his wisemen and Zeresh his wifesaid to him, "IfMordecai, beforewhom you have begun to fall, is of Jewishorigin, you will not overcome him, but will surelyfallbefore him."
