O LORD, you are my God;1 I will exalt you and praise your name,2 for in perfect faithfulness3 you have done marvelous things,4 things planned5 long ago.
You have made the city a heap of rubble,6 the fortified7 town a ruin,8 the foreigners' stronghold9 a city no more; it will never be rebuilt.103
Therefore strong peoples will honor you;11 cities of ruthless12 nations will revere you.
You have been a refuge13 for the poor,14 a refuge for the needy15 in his distress, a shelter from the storm16 and a shade from the heat. For the breath of the ruthless17 is like a storm driving against a wall
and like the heat of the desert. You silence18 the uproar of foreigners;19 as heat is reduced by the shadow of a cloud, so the song of the ruthless20 is stilled.
On this mountain21 the LORD Almighty will prepare a feast22 of rich food for all peoples, a banquet of aged wine-- the best of meats and the finest of wines.237
On this mountain he will destroy the shroud24 that enfolds all peoples,25 the sheet that covers all nations;
he will swallow up death26 forever. The Sovereign LORD will wipe away the tears27 from all faces; he will remove the disgrace28 of his people from all the earth. The LORD has spoken.299
In that day30 they will say, "Surely this is our God;31 we trusted32 in him, and he saved33 us. This is the LORD, we trusted in him; let us rejoice34 and be glad in his salvation."35
