In that day,1 the LORD will punish with his sword,2 his fierce, great and powerful sword, Leviathan3 the gliding serpent,4 Leviathan the coiling serpent; he will slay the monster5 of the sea.
In that day6-- "Sing7 about a fruitful vineyard:83
I, the LORD, watch over it; I water9 it continually. I guard10 it day and night so that no one may harm11 it.
I am not angry. If only there were briers and thorns confronting me! I would march against them in battle; I would set them all on fire.125
Or else let them come to me for refuge;13 let them make peace14 with me, yes, let them make peace with me."
In days to come Jacob will take root,15 Israel will bud and blossom16 and fill all the world with fruit.177
Has [the LORD] struck her as he struck18 down those who struck her? Has she been killed as those were killed who killed her?
By warfarea and exile19 you contend with her-- with his fierce blast he drives her out, as on a day the east wind20 blows.
