View In My Bible
8 "I am the LORD;1 that is my name!2 I will not give my glory to another3 or my praise to idols.4 9 See, the former things5 have taken place, and new things I declare; before they spring into being I announce6 them to you."

Song of Praise to the LORD

10 Sing7 to the LORD a new song,8 his praise9 from the ends of the earth,10 you who go down to the sea, and all that is in it,11 you islands,12 and all who live in them. 11 Let the desert13 and its towns raise their voices; let the settlements where Kedar14 lives rejoice. Let the people of Sela15 sing for joy; let them shout from the mountaintops.16 12 Let them give glory17 to the LORD and proclaim his praise18 in the islands.19 13 The LORD will march out like a mighty20 man, like a warrior21 he will stir up his zeal;22 with a shout23 he will raise the battle cry and will triumph over his enemies.24 14 "For a long time I have kept silent,25 I have been quiet and held myself back.26 But now, like a woman in childbirth, I cry out, I gasp and pant.27 15 I will lay waste28 the mountains29 and hills and dry up all their vegetation; I will turn rivers into islands and dry up30 the pools. 16 I will lead31 the blind32 by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light33 before them and make the rough places smooth.34 These are the things I will do; I will not forsake35 them. 17 But those who trust in idols, who say to images, 'You are our gods,'36 will be turned back in utter shame.37
