Sing3 to the LORD a new song,4 his praise5 from the ends of the earth,6 you who go down to the sea, and all that is in it,7 you islands,8 and all who live in them.
Let the desert9 and its towns raise their voices; let the settlements where Kedar10 lives rejoice. Let the people of Sela11 sing for joy; let them shout from the mountaintops.1212
Let them give glory13 to the LORD and proclaim his praise14 in the islands.1513
The LORD will march out like a mighty16 man, like a warrior17 he will stir up his zeal;18 with a shout19 he will raise the battle cry and will triumph over his enemies.2014
"For a long time I have kept silent,21 I have been quiet and held myself back.22 But now, like a woman in childbirth, I cry out, I gasp and pant.2315
I will lay waste24 the mountains25 and hills and dry up all their vegetation; I will turn rivers into islands and dry up26 the pools.
I will lead27 the blind28 by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light29 before them and make the rough places smooth.30 These are the things I will do; I will not forsake31 them.
But those who trust in idols, who say to images, 'You are our gods,'32 will be turned back in utter shame.33
"Hear, you deaf;34 look, you blind, and see!
Who is blind35 but my servant,36 and deaf like the messenger37 I send? Who is blind like the one committed38 to me, blind like the servant of the LORD?
