See, I am doing a new thing!1 Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert2 and streams in the wasteland.320
The wild animals4 honor me, the jackals5 and the owls, because I provide water6 in the desert and streams in the wasteland, to give drink to my people, my chosen,

the people I formed7 for myself8 that they may proclaim my praise.922
"Yet you have not called upon me, O Jacob, you have not wearied10 yourselves for me, O Israel.1123
You have not brought me sheep for burnt offerings,12 nor honored13 me with your sacrifices.14 I have not burdened15 you with grain offerings nor wearied you with demands16 for incense.1724
You have not bought any fragrant calamus18 for me, or lavished on me the fat19 of your sacrifices. But you have burdened me with your sins and wearied20 me with your offenses.2125
"I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions,22 for my own sake,23 and remembers your sins24 no more.2526
