Awake, awake,1 O Zion, clothe yourself with strength.2 Put on your garments of splendor,3 O Jerusalem, the holy city.4 The uncircumcised5 and defiled6 will not enter you again.72
Shake off your dust;8 rise up,9 sit enthroned, O Jerusalem. Free yourself from the chains on your neck,10 O captive Daughter of Zion.113
For this is what the LORD says: "You were sold for nothing,12 and without money13 you will be redeemed.14"
4

"And now what do I have here?" declares the LORD. "For my people have been taken away for nothing, and those who rule them mock,a " declares the LORD. "And all day long my name is constantly blasphemed.176
Therefore my people will know18 my name;19 therefore in that day20 they will know that it is I who foretold21 it. Yes, it is I."
7
How beautiful on the mountains22 are the feet of those who bring good news,23 who proclaim peace,24 who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, "Your God reigns!"258
Listen! Your watchmen26 lift up their voices;27 together they shout for joy.28 When the LORD returns29 to Zion,30 they will see it with their own eyes.
9
Burst into songs of joy31 together, you ruins32 of Jerusalem, for the LORD has comforted33 his people, he has redeemed Jerusalem.3410
The LORD will lay bare his holy arm35 in the sight of all the nations,36 and all the ends of the earth37 will see the salvation38 of our God.
11
Depart,39 depart, go out from there! Touch no unclean thing!40 Come out from it and be pure,41 you who carry the vessels42 of the LORD.
12
But you will not leave in haste43 or go in flight; for the LORD will go before you,44 the God of Israel will be your rear guard.45
13
See, my servant46 will act wiselyb; he will be raised and lifted up and highly exalted.4714
Just as there were many who were appalled48 at himc-- his appearance was so disfigured49 beyond that of any man and his form marred beyond human likeness50--
15
so will he sprinkle51 many nations,d and kings52 will shut their mouths53 because of him. For what they were not told, they will see, and what they have not heard, they will understand.54
