Isaiah 52:3-13 (New International Version)

View In My Bible
3 For this is what the LORD says: "You were sold for nothing,1 and without money2 you will be redeemed.3" 4 For this is what the Sovereign LORD says: "At first my people went down to Egypt4 to live; lately, Assyria5 has oppressed them. 5 "And now what do I have here?" declares the LORD. "For my people have been taken away for nothing, and those who rule them mock,a " declares the LORD. "And all day long my name is constantly blasphemed.6 6 Therefore my people will know7 my name;8 therefore in that day9 they will know that it is I who foretold10 it. Yes, it is I." 7 How beautiful on the mountains11 are the feet of those who bring good news,12 who proclaim peace,13 who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, "Your God reigns!"14 8 Listen! Your watchmen15 lift up their voices;16 together they shout for joy.17 When the LORD returns18 to Zion,19 they will see it with their own eyes. 9 Burst into songs of joy20 together, you ruins21 of Jerusalem, for the LORD has comforted22 his people, he has redeemed Jerusalem.23 10 The LORD will lay bare his holy arm24 in the sight of all the nations,25 and all the ends of the earth26 will see the salvation27 of our God. 11 Depart,28 depart, go out from there! Touch no unclean thing!29 Come out from it and be pure,30 you who carry the vessels31 of the LORD. 12 But you will not leave in haste32 or go in flight; for the LORD will go before you,33 the God of Israel will be your rear guard.34
