Give ear and come to me; hear1 me, that your soul may live.2 I will make an everlasting covenant3 with you, my faithful love4 promised to David.54
See, I have made him a witness6 to the peoples, a leader and commander7 of the peoples.
Surely you will summon nations8 you know not, and nations that do not know you will hasten to you,9 because of the LORD your God, the Holy One10 of Israel, for he has endowed you with splendor."116
Seek12 the LORD while he may be found;13 call14 on him while he is near.
Let the wicked forsake15 his way and the evil man his thoughts.16 Let him turn17 to the LORD, and he will have mercy18 on him, and to our God, for he will freely pardon.198
"For my thoughts20 are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,"21 declares the LORD.
"As the heavens are higher than the earth,22 so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.2310
As the rain24 and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish,25 so that it yields seed26 for the sower and bread for the eater,2711
so is my word28 that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty,29 but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose30 for which I sent it.
You will go out in joy31 and be led forth in peace;32 the mountains and hills will burst into song33 before you, and all the trees34 of the field will clap their hands.3513
Instead of the thornbush will grow the pine tree, and instead of briers36 the myrtle37 will grow. This will be for the LORD's renown,38 for an everlasting sign, which will not be destroyed."
