See, I have made him a witness1 to the peoples, a leader and commander2 of the peoples.
Surely you will summon nations3 you know not, and nations that do not know you will hasten to you,4 because of the LORD your God, the Holy One5 of Israel, for he has endowed you with splendor."66
Seek7 the LORD while he may be found;8 call9 on him while he is near.
Let the wicked forsake10 his way and the evil man his thoughts.11 Let him turn12 to the LORD, and he will have mercy13 on him, and to our God, for he will freely pardon.148
"For my thoughts15 are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,"16 declares the LORD.
"As the heavens are higher than the earth,17 so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.1810
As the rain19 and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish,20 so that it yields seed21 for the sower and bread for the eater,2211
so is my word23 that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty,24 but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose25 for which I sent it.
You will go out in joy26 and be led forth in peace;27 the mountains and hills will burst into song28 before you, and all the trees29 of the field will clap their hands.3013
Instead of the thornbush will grow the pine tree, and instead of briers31 the myrtle32 will grow. This will be for the LORD's renown,33 for an everlasting sign, which will not be destroyed."
