Seek1 the LORD while he may be found;2 call3 on him while he is near.
Let the wicked forsake4 his way and the evil man his thoughts.5 Let him turn6 to the LORD, and he will have mercy7 on him, and to our God, for he will freely pardon.88
"For my thoughts9 are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,"10 declares the LORD.
"As the heavens are higher than the earth,11 so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.1210
As the rain13 and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish,14 so that it yields seed15 for the sower and bread for the eater,1611
so is my word17 that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty,18 but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose19 for which I sent it.
You will go out in joy20 and be led forth in peace;21 the mountains and hills will burst into song22 before you, and all the trees23 of the field will clap their hands.2413
Instead of the thornbush will grow the pine tree, and instead of briers25 the myrtle26 will grow. This will be for the LORD's renown,27 for an everlasting sign, which will not be destroyed."
