7 Llamando entonces el rey Joás al sacerdote Joiada y a los sacerdotes, les dijo: ¿Por qué no reparáis las aberturas de la Casa? Ahora pues, no toméis más el dinero de vuestros familiares, sino dadlo para reparar las aberturas del templo

2 Kings 12:7

Then King Jehoash called for Jehoiada the priest, and the other
priests
The common priests, Jehoiada being high priest:

and said unto them, why repair ye not the breaches of the house?
in which they appeared to him very dilatory; the reason might be, the people were not forward to pay in their money, and they might not choose to begin the repairs until they had got it all in, or at least what was sufficient to carry them through them:

now therefore receive no more money of your acquaintance;
suspecting that what they had received they kept for their own use:

but deliver it for the breaches of the house;
into other hands for that use, and so dismissed them at once from collecting the money, and being concerned in the repairs of the temple.

5 recíbanlo los sacerdotes, cada uno de sus familiares, los cuales reparen los portillos de la Casa dondequiera que se hallare abertura

6 Pero el año veintitrés del rey Joás, no habían aún reparado los sacerdotes las aberturas de la Casa

7 Llamando entonces el rey Joás al sacerdote Joiada y a los sacerdotes, les dijo: ¿Por qué no reparáis las aberturas de la Casa? Ahora pues, no toméis más el dinero de vuestros familiares, sino dadlo para reparar las aberturas del templo

8 Y los sacerdotes consintieron en no tomar más dinero del pueblo, ni tener cargo de reparar las aberturas de la Casa

9 Entonces el sacerdote Joiada tomó un arca, y le hizo en la tapa un agujero, y la puso junto al altar, a la mano derecha a la entrada del templo del SEÑOR; y los sacerdotes que guardaban la puerta, ponían allí todo el dinero que se metía en la Casa del SEÑOR
