Judges 21:16

Then the elders of the congregation said
&c.] This being the case, that there were not wives enough for them, they were obliged to consult again, and consider of another expedient to provide for them; and this motion came from the elders of the people, not only in years, but in office:

how shall we do for wives for them that remain:
the other two hundred, who had none:

seeing the women are destroyed out of Benjamin?
and so no wives to be had there; and as for the Israelites which came to Mizpeh, who were of all the tribes of Israel, they had solemnly sworn that they would not give any of their daughters to them, and therefore it was a very difficult thing to provide wives for them.

14 Y volvieron entonces los de Benjamín; y les dieron por mujeres las que habían guardado vivas de las mujeres de Jabes-galaad; mas no les bastaron éstas

15 Y el pueblo se arrepintió a causa de Benjamín, de que el SEÑOR hubiera hecho mella en las tribus de Israel

16 Entonces los ancianos de la congregación dijeron: ¿Qué haremos acerca de mujeres para los que han quedado? Porque las mujeres de Benjamín habían sido exterminadas

17 Y dijeron: Que se salva la heredad de Benjamín, para que no sea una tribu raída de Israel

18 Nosotros sin embargo, no les podemos dar mujeres de nuestras hijas, porque los hijos de Israel han jurado, diciendo: Maldito el que diere mujer a alguno de Benjamín
