I will send foreigners1 to Babylon to winnow2 her and to devastate her land; they will oppose her on every side in the day3 of her disaster.
Let not the archer string his bow,4 nor let him put on his armor.5 Do not spare her young men; completely destroya her army.
They will fall6 down slain in Babylon,b fatally wounded in her streets.75
For Israel and Judah have not been forsaken8 by their God, the LORD Almighty, though their landc is full of guilt9 before the Holy One of Israel.

Lift up a banner29 against the walls of Babylon! Reinforce the guard, station the watchmen,30 prepare an ambush!31 The LORD will carry out his purpose,32 his decree against the people of Babylon.
