View In My Bible
3 Would he argue with useless words, with speeches that have no value?1 4 But you even undermine piety and hinder devotion to God.2 5 Your sin3 prompts your mouth;4 you adopt the tongue of the crafty.5 6 Your own mouth condemns you, not mine; your own lips testify against you.6 7 "Are you the first man ever born?7 Were you brought forth before the hills?8 8 Do you listen in on God's council?9 Do you limit wisdom to yourself ?10 9 What do you know that we do not know? What insights do you have that we do not have?11 10 The gray-haired and the aged12 are on our side, men even older than your father.13 11 Are God's consolations14 not enough for you, words15 spoken gently to you?16 12 Why has your heart17 carried you away, and why do your eyes flash, 13 so that you vent your rage18 against God and pour out such words19 from your mouth?20
