Job 26:4-14 (New International Version)

View In My Bible
4 Who has helped you utter these words? And whose spirit spoke from your mouth?1 5 "The dead are in deep anguish,2 those beneath the waters and all that live in them. 6 Deatha3 is naked before God; Destructionb4 lies uncovered.5 7 He spreads out the northern [skies]6 over empty space; he suspends the earth over nothing.7 8 He wraps up the waters8 in his clouds,9 yet the clouds do not burst under their weight. 9 He covers the face of the full moon, spreading his clouds10 over it. 10 He marks out the horizon on the face of the waters11 for a boundary between light and darkness.12 11 The pillars of the heavens quake,13 aghast at his rebuke. 12 By his power he churned up the sea;14 by his wisdom15 he cut Rahab16 to pieces. 13 By his breath the skies17 became fair; his hand pierced the gliding serpent.18 14 And these are but the outer fringe of his works; how faint the whisper19 we hear of him!20 Who then can understand the thunder of his power?"21
