Be not afraid,1 O land; be glad and rejoice.2 Surely the LORD has done great things.3
Be not afraid, O wild animals, for the open pastures are becoming green.4 The trees are bearing their fruit; the fig tree5 and the vine6 yield their riches.7
Be glad, O people of Zion, rejoice8 in the LORD your God, for he has given you the autumn rains in righteousness.9 He sends you abundant showers,10 both autumn11 and spring rains,12 as before.
The threshing floors will be filled with grain; the vats will overflow13 with new wine14 and oil.
"I will repay you for the years the locusts15 have eaten16-- the great locust and the young locust, the other locusts and the locust swarm-- my great army17 that I sent among you.
You will have plenty to eat, until you are full,18 and you will praise19 the name of the LORD your God, who has worked wonders20 for you; never again will my people be shamed.21
Then you will know22 that I am in Israel, that I am the LORD 23 your God, and that there is no other; never again will my people be shamed.24
"And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit25 on all people.26 Your sons and daughters will prophesy,27 your old men will dream dreams,28 your young men will see visions.
Even on my servants,29 both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days.30
I will show wonders in the heavens31 and on the earth,32 blood and fire and billows of smoke.
The sun will be turned to darkness33 and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD.34
