Acts 24:20 Meaning and Commentary

Acts 24:20

Or else let these same here say
They that are present, the high priest and the elders, who were come down to accuse him:

if they have found any evil doing in me, while I stood before the
council;
or "Jewish sanhedrim"; when he was brought before them by the chief captain, ( Acts 22:30 ) ( 23:1 ) meaning, if any evil was then done by him, or any iniquity proved upon him, let it be declared; for as for his imprecation, or prophecy, that God would smite the high priest, he excused himself on that head, as not knowing it was the high priest.

Acts 24:20 In-Context

18 Whereupon certain Jews from Asia found me purified in the temple, neither with multitude, nor with tumult,
19 who ought to have been here before thee and object if they had anything against me.
20 Or else let these same here say if they have found any evil doing in me, while I stood before the council,
21 except it be for this one voice, that I cried out standing among them, Touching the resurrection of the dead, I am called in question by you this day.
22 And when Felix heard these things, he deferred them, saying, I shall have more information regarding that way, when Lysias the tribunal shall come down, Then I will know the uttermost of your matter.
