If you’re a Christian no doubt your desire is that God would be made known to the whole world! But maybe you didn’t realize, your love for others can really help that along! Ever have someone come up to you and question God’s existence, wanting some sort of proof? Or maybe you’re a bit skeptical yourself? You’ll want to listen in to today’s According to the Scriptures, as we’ll see how our love for one another is powerful evidence to a watching world. Pastor Damian Kyle is in First John chapter four, continuing our series, “Authentic Fellowship with God.”

We’re at the tail-end of First John chapter four today. Last time we learned that the invisible God reveals Himself through the visible love of believers. Now today, pastor John will go on to discuss the power of love over fear and then the practical application of God’s love.

Pastor John Randall is leading us through the New Testament, and today we stop in First John chapter four, verses twelve to twenty-one. We have daily interactions with people… whether it’s at work, in the supermarket, or hanging out with friends or family. Those people may never crack open a Bible, but they are watching us. And today we’ll learn how the invisible God reveals Himself through the visible love of believers.

“Since the world in general does not see Jesus as He is presented in the Word of God, the only way it will know of God’s love is through the lives of believers who represent Him.” That’s the important lesson we’re learning in 1 John. Discover more about the role of the Holy Spirit in our lives and our responsibility to share God’s Word with His world.

We’ve been learning about the love of God here recently. Now as we experience this love firsthand, God then moves us to love others as He has loved us.
